Yeah, today definitely made up for a not-so-steller yesterday. I guess 101 is better than 100 after all. Might have been better in dalmatian puppies though… Will have to try that at some point. Or, could consider today 100, since it's still yesterday at home. Kinda.. Time differences…
Still went to school, though shorter than usual. My last class was cancelled today. On account of me wanting to go to a park zoo with Tamarra. Got there too late though, and the zoo was closed as well. Stupid for zoos to close at 4. What's wrong with Japan. Anyway, hung around the park anyway and found swan paddle boats. Soooo cute. Much more work than they're worth though. It was 700¥ for half an hour of paddling around their pond. Very nice. Got quite a bit of a work out.
After that it was time to head back in the school direction to go to our favorite bar, 82 Ale House. It's a Brittish-styled pub, very similar to Hub, but smaller, quieter, and has good food. Just found out they're owned by the same company. Who knew? But yeah. And since we went early, happy hour! 350¥ for cocktails! Yay Japan. Finally tried their bangers and mash, which was lovely, though a little over prices at 700¥ for bar food. But damn tasty. Haven't had suitable mashed potatoes since coming to Japan. And sausage. Yum.
Anyway, spent a good amount of time there, just hanging, then headed out to Ike for some Sweets Paradise. Last time we went, we got there after last call. Not so this time. Unfortunately, I had mostly filled myself up on alcohol, bangers and mash, so I didn't really make much use of the tabehoudai occasion. Also, I was more disappointed with this one than I remember. It always seems like a good idea, but I guess it's never good as I hope. It was nice to sit for a little more though, and enjoy some tasty cakes, food, icecream, and shaved ice.
After Sweets Paradise, we went to Roppongi. Always hear it's dangerous to go there at night. Oh well. Seemed fine to me. We have a discount as students for the Roppongi Hills Skywalk, which is on the 52nd floor of the Roppongi Hills building. Lovely view, and it was clear enough tonight to see pretty far up. Also, Tokyo Tower was nice and close, and lit up. With Tamarra's help I managed to get my camera to finally take some good night shots. Probably will never post them. Too tired to think much now… It was a little spendy just to walk around the floor of a building. I guess I'm getting super money conscious as I get closer to the end, (exactly 4 weeks from 4 this afternoon…) and I probably don't need to worry, but I do.
So yeah, today was much better. Going with Mama to… Fukagawa? Tomorrow. To see a different Edo museum, and some shrines. I guess I gotta wear something comfy. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day…
